Duties & Responsibilities
REPORTS TO: HVAC PROJECT MANAGER
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and coordinates all aspects of the construction site. Manages and directs subcontractors and employees to complete a project in accordance with the specifications of the job. Responsible for the safety of the site as well as the quality of work and materials used throughout the project. Works closely with the project manager and design professionals, advising them of progress or problems. Ensures that the project is completed on time and company standards are met.
- Understands and leads Pre-Con, full review of project plans, Hours, specifications, orders materials, and schedules manpower.
- Performs continuous daily site walk-throughs to ensure proper site safety, construction, progress, quality control, and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
- Directs all field personnel daily to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to current plans and specifications.
- In partnership with the PM, coordinate and schedules kick off meeting to ensure that all team members are well informed and aware of all project requirements, expectations, and billable 40hr week for each crew member.
- Prepare two-week look ahead, weekly, based on current project progress. Present and discuss the three-week look ahead with field foremen and or Lead in a weekly meeting on site to ensure that everyone is on the same page; send the two-week look ahead to all appropriate Subcontractor offices via the PM.
- Works in partnership with the PM to uncover and address issues of constructability or lack of scope in the buy-out process through careful review of project drawings for omissions and/or holes.
- Communicates openly and honestly with the PM to identify issues and risks associated with the project.
- Coordinates and understands Project Job Cost Tracking with the PM.
- Research review and address any owner, building rules and regulations, local, city or state permit, regulation, procedure or other requirements and ensure compliance to avoid project delays, ensure safety, and/or ensure client satisfaction.
- Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and employees.
- Maintains and processes payroll task sheets, timecards, TSheets approval, weekly.
- Maintains as built drawings.
- Maintains an organized job site, including the construction office trailer.
- Ensures punch/ action item list is developed and executed in a timely manner and under budget outline. Relays handoff to PM/ GC Teams.
- Attends and participates in all required meetings. Ongoing coordination with PM, subjects, on all construction flow.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Individuals must have technical knowledge of HVAC systems and installation, the ability to read and understand mechanical drawings as well as HVAC wiring diagrams, a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, access to their own tools, good communication skills, have a very positive attitude, self-motivation and time management skills, attention to detail, strong work ethic, exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills, ability to handle physically challenging workload, availability to work evenings and weekends, possess a clean and professional appearance and excellent customer service skills. MUST be a self-starter and able to work in a team as well as on their own. Additionally, a high school diploma or GED is required.
- Must have at least five (5) years of experience in HVAC Residential & Commercial Industry.
- 4-year college degree preferred but not required or equivalent OJT or Vocational Schooling, Preferable concentration in project management.
- Must have passed or be willing to obtain EPA Certification (Universal), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency 608 certification exam /cert.
- NATE Certification or willing to obtain within 6 months. Continued education and company support.
