HVAC Apprentice

TITLE: Apprentice
REPORTS TO: HVAC JOURNEYMAN INSTALLER or SERVICE TECHNICIAN II (Pending Division)
 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • General laborer – must be able to stand, bend, squat and lift at least 50 lbs. and perform repetitive motions.
  • Must be familiar with various construction tools including power tools.
  • Proper use of tape measure is essential.
  • Assists in fabrication of structural or sheet metal products, performing any combination of the following tasks: Lift, position, and remove pieces from machine to assist in installations.
  • Must be able to follow instructions exactly as given and prioritize duties according to projects on demand.
  • Load, unload, stack, and transport materials, equipment, tools, and work in process between shop, company truck / van and job site.
  • Clean and maintain job sites, tools and company vehicles daily.
  • Provide accurate documentation of all inspections, observations, and or incidents in a timely and legible manner according to Employee Manual requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required.

CSR - Customer Service Representative

TITLE: CSR
REPORTS TO: HVAC SERVICE MANAGER
 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • CSMT is seeking a full-time Customer Service Representative to assist our dedicated team of HVAC service providers. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing outstanding customer services to our loyal clients.
  • Maintain the service technicians daily schedules and dispatch the technicians as service calls are completed. Debrief technicians after each service call. Schedule return trips with customers when parts are in. Maintain the on-call schedule for service technicians. Maintain customer database with current information. Clear and concise communications with department managers, employees, and company customers, including keeping customers appraised as to company schedule and requested lead-times.
  • Geographical knowledge of service area or map reading skills. Schedule, coordinate, and create…dispatch orders for all service calls as calls are received. Respond to online leads from different marketing platforms.
  • Maintain the CRM, (P3) dispatch software schedule, and forecast workload 2-5 days out minimal. Contact customers with a “Parts pending” status as parts are received for scheduling. Follow up on all pending and recommended work with customers utilizing the pending work log.
  • Update customer files as information is received from installation. (Extending warranties, equipment info, commission reports, new customers, etc.) Update customer accounts with correct information including deactivating old phone numbers and email. Maintain the Comfort Club maintenance agreements, including billing, scheduling, and staging of materials, database information, customer hard files, and renewals.
  • Maintain an on-call schedule to include 1st on-call technician. Ensure that the correct technician with the appropriate skill set is sent to the correct service call to maximize gross profit and minimize travel time. Respond to all service emails promptly with professionalism.
  • Contact technicians when the Technician is running behind schedule and possibly reschedule if needed. Other duties as assigned by the Service Manager. Assist Technicians with quotes, routing, and help on the job promptly
  • Collect Payment, Service Billing, financing, etc.
  • Ability to offer products & services to customers, (IAQ, upgrades, replacements, extended warranty, maintenance contracts, financing, etc.)

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years related experience and/or raining in customer service, dispatching, or project management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Knowledge of the industry is recommended but not required, High school diploma or general education degree, (GED). Requires proficient computer skills.
  • Advanced level knowledge of software technologies, such as iOS, Android, and Windows OS, CRM Software, (P3), Office 365, Word, Excel, and QuickBooks.

HVAC Service Technician – Level I

TITLE: Service Technician
REPORTS TO: HVAC SERVICE MANAGER
 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primary role of HVAC maintenance programs of commercial & residential heating & cooling systems.
  • The Service Technician will be responsible for the replacement of HVAC units which may include electronic and mechanical components.
  • Inspecting, performing equipment repairs and replacements for our customers’ heating, cooling and ventilation systems.
  • Maintenance of, repairs to and installation of HVAC duct work including flexible ducting and sheet metal due to improper installation or defects.
  • Maintenance and recycling of CFC or HCFC refrigerants.
  • Travel to homes and businesses daily as scheduled. (Out of town & overnight required at times).
  • Ability to offer products & services to customers, (IAQ, upgrades, replacements, extended warranty, maintenance contracts, financing, etc.)
  • Keeping detailed records of customer’s appointments and payment transactions including invoices using Comfort System’s assigned management software and equipment.

HVAC Superintendent

TITLE: Superintendent
REPORTS TO: HVAC PROJECT MANAGER
 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans and coordinates all aspects of the construction site. Manages and directs subcontractors and employees to complete a project in accordance with the specifications of the job. Responsible for the safety of the site as well as the quality of work and materials used throughout the project. Works closely with the project manager and design professionals, advising them of progress or problems. Ensures that the project is completed on time and company standards are met.
  • Understands and leads Pre-Con, full review of project plans, Hours, specifications, orders materials, and schedules manpower.
  • Performs continuous daily site walk-throughs to ensure proper site safety, construction, progress, quality control, and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
  • Directs all field personnel daily to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to current plans and specifications.
  • In partnership with the PM, coordinate and schedules kick off meeting to ensure that all team members are well informed and aware of all project requirements, expectations, and billable 40hr week for each crew member.
  • Prepare two-week look ahead, weekly, based on current project progress. Present and discuss the three-week look ahead with field foremen and or Lead in a weekly meeting on site to ensure that everyone is on the same page; send the two-week look ahead to all appropriate Subcontractor offices via the PM.
  • Works in partnership with the PM to uncover and address issues of constructability or lack of scope in the buy-out process through careful review of project drawings for omissions and/or holes.
  • Communicates openly and honestly with the PM to identify issues and risks associated with the project.
  • Coordinates and understands Project Job Cost Tracking with the PM.
  • Research review and address any owner, building rules and regulations, local, city or state permit, regulation, procedure or other requirements and ensure compliance to avoid project delays, ensure safety, and/or ensure client satisfaction.
  • Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and employees.
  • Maintains and processes payroll task sheets, timecards, TSheets approval, weekly.
  • Maintains as built drawings.
  • Maintains an organized job site, including the construction office trailer.
  • Ensures punch/ action item list is developed and executed in a timely manner and under budget outline. Relays handoff to PM/ GC Teams.
  • Attends and participates in all required meetings. Ongoing coordination with PM, subjects, on all construction flow.

HVAC Project Manager

TITLE: Project Manager
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations
 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete HVAC estimates from Blueprints or performing project walk/meetings with client.
  • Obtain quotes from vendors for equipment and materials as specified on blueprints.
  • Submit estimates by the specified due date
  • Create submittals, O&M’s and contracts
  • Understand pay apps and billing cycles
  • Heat Calculations using Wrightsoft (training provided if needed)
  • Develop and maintain successful working relationships with existing customers as well as establishing new clients.
  • Order all equipment and materials from vendors for projects, coordinate deliveries and returns to and from job sites, coordinate material production schedule with the Shop/ Production manager.
  • Verify counts and prices on shipments.
  • Maintain computerized purchase order systems.
  • Assist in product and material research for technicians.
  • Plan, Schedule, Conduct and track regular safety training and safety inspections.
  • Communicate clearly, show recognition and build rapport with employees, co-workers, customers, and vendors.

  • Installation of HVAC duct work including flexible ducting and sheet metal construction. Duct layout and sizing is essential.
  • Ability to direct, supervise, and train apprentices on jobsites. (1-2 Team Members)
  • Installation of low voltage connections to HVAC components and installation of HVAC automation components for businesses or smart homes.
  • Install new heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, including startups.
  • Inspect and perform equipment repairs and replacements.
  • Installations of refrigeration lines to include vacuum, charge, and startup.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Individuals must have technical knowledge of HVAC systems and installation, the ability to read and understand mechanical drawings as well as HVAC wiring diagrams, a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, access to their own tools, strong work ethic, ability to handle physically challenging workload, availability to work evenings and weekends, possess a clean and professional appearance and excellent customer service skills. MUST be able to work in a team as well as on their own. Additionally, a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Must have or least two (2) years of experience in HVAC
  • Must have passed or be willing to obtain EPA Certification (Universal), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency 608 certification exam /cert.
  • NATE Certification or willing to obtain within 12 months. Continued education and company support.
